There is an unsaid rule in schools that sex talk will be handled by parents. Our country has become a sex-fearing country where reproduction, contraception, and relationships are hidden. But has this approach solved any problem?

WHO says that 6% of India’s population has some or the other kind of sexually transmitted infection. An ICMR report says that 43% of India’s men have some kind of sexual problem.  And of them 28% people are hesitant to even go to a doctor. Better die than lose pride. Indians have taken this line somewhat too seriously.

Sexual problems are not just limited to sex. They are also linked to depression and anxiety. That means due to awkwardness, we are seriously impacting our health Due to not talking about relationships, girls have a different type of problem.

If someone gives a wrong answer, they get the correct answer from the students itself. Of course, under the supervision of a qualified teacher, sex is natural and so is talking about it. This is taught in a protected environment like the classroom And the result is seen in their society.

Chapter 4: Solutions

Usually, parents’ approach to Sex Ed is that the child will learn on his own. Because that’s how parents themselves had learned But the difference is that back then, parents didn’t have a smartphone in hand. The internet was not as accessible as it is today. Where to stop? When to stop? Children won’t be able to learn on their own. Giving the right channel for their curiosity is our responsibility.

Number 1:  Become cultured. India’s history has been one of open society. Since the time of Sushrut, we have talked about human anatomy and space since the time of Aryabhata. But thousands of years of invasions and colonization have made us conservative. This conservative attitude is not our culture. Our culture is what teaches us to handle a mature subject sensitively.
